Like indoles and glucosinolates, isoflavones inhibit tumor growth and limit the production of cancer-related hormones. Ellagic acid and resveratrol are two types of polyphenols. They can prevent cancer formation and inflammation. When it comes to phytochemicals, the key is to get them from whole foods -- not supplements.
