UPDATE AS OF JULY 13TH, Was able to harvest 3 Marketmore 76 cucumbers on July 12th and I see a lot more that is about to be ready. The cucumbers tasted great not bitter at all. Also harvested tons of green beans the last 3 weeks. They were sweet and crunchy.

Cabbages are forming the head right now. My beefsteak tomatoes are developing fruits. Carrots are still small. Watermelon and cantaloupes are starting to flower. Was able to harvest a whole bucket of lettuce. And cilantro is growing well.

I bought these seeds on April 13th, so the packaging has changed. Anyways, this was my first time ever growing anything prior to April 17th, Some seed packets were replaced, such as lavender and peppers for leek and another variety of squash.

The video I included showed when I planted everything. The ones I planted on April 17th were germinated with a wet paper towel and a ziplock bag. Everything planted after that was directly sown into the ground.

Most of what I tried to plant has grown, some slower than others. The seeds that I have not had any luck with were beets, collard greens, and spinach. Probably just a lot of bad seeds.

Just remember, a little planning and research go a long way in ensuring a bountiful harvest! Happy planting! starting my garden and this is all I need. i grew some good veges and it comes with a nice bag to put everything in. Some of them sprouted, some didn't.

The cucumber plants have plenty of flowers, but none of them have grown any cucumbers. The asparagus seeds are only ferns, I guess they won't be real asparagus until next year? The pumpkin plant grew well, with a thick stem and flowers, and then the rabbits in my yard ate the flowers and I don't think they'll grow any pumpkins, so that's sad.

Here's why I planted around 30 varieties and all but one lavender germinated. However, the thing that has me questioning its authenticity as an heirloom is how fast these seeds germinated and grew.

Of the 30 varieties I seeded indoor about one fourth of them had fully sprouted on day 2 and by day 3, more than half of them had sprouted and were showing their first leaves. At the end of day 1, a few had already germinated and broken the surface. But before the end of 5 days, nearly all of them were sprouted, showing their first leaves, and most were already standing inches tall.

Far too much growth for heirloom seeds. I've started other heirloom seeds bought from other vendors, some designed for my climate region, and none propagated as fast as these. That's a good thing for someone who wants to garden with no hassle. But for growers like myself, it is important that the seeds are NOT genetically modified for fast germination and strong propagation and pest mitigation ; I want genuine heirlooms because I don't want the bad, modified stuff, even if it means I have to wait longer for them to sprout.

So while I am pleased with the speed and success of its germination and growth, I am highly suspicious of the claim that they are heirloom. Heirlooms should not be germinating FASTER than what it shows on the packaging, which is usually days not for the majority of seeds.

All of my heirloom seeds from reputable seed dealers non-Amazon take about a week before sprouting and breaking the surface, and this is under controlled, ideal conditions. Be cautious if your searching for true non-GMO, heirloom seeds.

Judging by some customer reviews and how the vendor swaps seeds or packets, I wonder if these might have been seeds purchased from store and repackaged as "heirloom". They germinated too well and sprouted too fast to be heirloom.

I'm okay with hybrids, as long as they're between non-GMO heirlooms. I'll have to ride out the rest of this season with these plants and either start over new in the late season or next.

Either that or save seeds until they generationally revert back to heirloom characteristic, but I doubt I want to wait that long. I bought them for the variety of seeds, but oh my there is more than I expected. When growing in seed bundles of four, most of them had at least one sprout!

Please try again later. Style: Vegetable Kit Size: 32 pack Verified Purchase. I just wanted survival seeds that germinate and grow. Excellent germination rate. Late last year, prior to the current apocalypse, I'd planned to plant these using the STUN method, strategic, total, utter neglect, testing different approaches.

The squash seedlings proved far too tasty for the fall onslaught of birds, squirrels, rabbits and raccoons to ignore, the results are still pretty amazing. Some of the dwarf siberian kale and mustard greens even survived the winter, providing me a crop right now.

With the STUN method, I used no prep, no weeding, planted in the "wrong" place, and got a small crop anyway from these amazing seeds. And believe it or not, that's exactly what I expected to happen. The next step is to let these go to seed already in progress and harvest their survivor genetics, getting a crop perfectly tailored to my wrong environment and neglectful practices.

I also tested germinating these and some 25 year-old seeds in a bag of the cheapest, store-bought mystery potting soil. Everything came up in neat little rows. The germination rates were at least as good as advertised.

The transplanted corn grew. But not much. They were planted in September in Seattle. Not nearly enough time to grow. I also have a suspiciously large patch of onions growing like weeds all winter. Which is neat, because I never have enough onions.

I didn't even "plant" them. I just scattered them around a few places and then totally forgot about them. Turns out Jesus was right about that.

If you're doing it for survival, especially given the yield I ended up with, I would suggest buying at least 3 to 5 packages if you can, and being much more intelligent and diligent about when you plant them, using compost, controlling the pests with Irish spring and similar tricks, giving the pests something else to eat to keep them busy while your plants get started to really give these seeds the best opportunity.

The corn and sunflowers were seeded much too late in the year, but did grow anyway. These are highly recommended. I'm looking forward to buying these again soon because it's still by far the cheapest, easiest way to replenish all the sunflowers, squash and corn I used up. Got compliments on my porch full of little seedlings.

I don't know how it all tastes, but I'm told the flavor comes from a combination of good genes and being raising well. May have to update this when I know more. From a prior purchase of similar seeds germinated last year, I know the shelf life is easily 25 years or more if stored properly.

Everything I planted germinated. With any more care less culling and more weeding , I could have gotten a pretty big crop. Less than a bag of groceries. But do I have a bag of groceries worth of produce? And I still would have had enough seeds left over to Johnny Appleseed these throughout all my neighbor's yards.

It's a no-brainer, IMO. Just look at the other reviews and see. And the instructions. Those are helpful. Took a look through them and studiously ignored them all. But if you're trying to grow food this year, I'd pay closer attention to those, which were simple, clear, and helpful. Doesn't tell you how to trap squirrels, though.

I'm also looking forward to getting the medicinal herb pack from these guys. A bit higher price per variety, but still a screaming good deal. My brother the real survival gardener of the family planted a couple herbs that happily took over the yard for more than 10 years, managed by nothing but a string trimmer, that were reasonably well-behaved.

I'd have to a little clueless not to make that kind of investment again. Put simply, even a badly neglected garden gives you rates of return you'll never see on the stock market. I got these little over a month ago and planted the peppers and tomatoes.
