As I like thicker soups I used only half a cup of water plus the stock. I will freeze half and add cream and cheese only when eating.

The only other change I would make next time is to add the salt to taste at the end as I did not used salt reduced chicken stock. This recipe has definitely been added to my rotation — budget, family and freezer friendly.

To make washing up easier make sure to blend first.. Then add the cheese. Otherwise the cheese sticks to the stick blender.

Blend and then stir in the cheese.. Made this at least 8 times but learnt from the washing up. PS got brocolli today from countdoun Manukau NZ for 1.
